The Montezuma County Landfill is a small baling and recycling solid waste facility operated in accordance with soild waste, water, and air regulations as well as work/labor safety statndards. Approximately 70% of the waste stream received is baled and then buried in lined landfill cells. Other activities include metal recycling (e.g. appliances), fiber recycling (mixed office paper and corrigated cardboard), yard waste diversion and tire diversion for recycling.
